The Hernando Citrus MPO to Hold Public Meeting

The Hernando/Citrus Metropolitan Organization (MPO) will conduct a public meeting on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, beginning at 1:00 p.m., at the Lecanto Government Building, 3600 W. Sovereign Path, Room 166, Lecanto, Florida.

Items scheduled on the agenda include, but are not limited to:

The BOCC Proclaims National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Citrus County

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners presented a Proclamation at their regular meeting on March 28, 2017 proclaiming the week of April 9 through 17, 2017 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

When emergencies occur, the prompt response of law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services is critical to life safety, property conservation and hazard mitigation. The safety of our law enforcement officers, firefighters and paramedics is dependent upon the quality and accuracy of information obtained from citizens who contact the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Answering Point; Public Safety Telecommunicators are the first most critical contact our citizens have with emergency services.

The Board of County Commissioners recognizes April 9 through 17, 2017 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Citrus County, honors the men and women whose diligence and professionalism keeps our citizens safe, and calls the observance to the attention of all citizens.

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners presented a Proclamation at their regular meeting on March 28, 2017 proclaiming the week of April 9 through 15, 2017 as Animal Control Officers Week.

Animal Control Officers provide an outstanding service and public safety on a daily basis to the citizens of the county. The BOCC commends the many dedicated and long hours these officers provide the community and their highest and most efficient level of customer service.

Friends of the Community Centers Present Donation

The Friends of the Community Centers and Circle of Friends Gifts presented a $3,700 donation to the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners at their regular meeting on March 28, 2017. The generous donation is to provide meals to the elderly of Citrus County.
