BOCC Proclaims Law Week in Citrus County

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners presented a Proclamation at their regular meeting on April 11, 2017 proclaiming the week of April 24 through 28, 2017 as Law Week in Citrus County.

Law Week is an occasion of public acknowledgement of our Nation’s heritage of Justice, Liberty and Equality under the law. Promoting public understanding of the roots of our freedom is an important component in the civic education of the citizens of the United States, and of the citizens of Citrus County. The Citrus County Bar Association has long been dedicated to promoting professionalism and service in the legal community and has a long tradition of serving the citizens of Citrus County.

The Board of County Commissioners recognizes April 24 through 28, 2017 as Law Week in Citrus County, and urges citizens, schools, businesses, and the media to use this occasion to celebrate our American Democracy and the Rule of Law; to reflect upon our Constitution and the tremendous freedoms we all share; and to recognize the contributions of the Citrus County Bar Association and its members to the citizens of Citrus County.

Location Change for Commissioner Coleman's May 1 Town Hall Meeting

Citrus County Commissioner Brian Coleman will be holding a Town Hall Meeting on Monday, May 1, 2017 for the general public to attend. The meeting will be held at the Inverness Community Center, 1082 N. Paul Dr., Inverness (off N. Independence Hwy.), from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

“This will be an informal meeting to receive ideas, listen to issues and concerns from the community, and to explore ways to resolve problems.” explained Commissioner Coleman.

Periodic Night Lane Closures on US 19 in Homosassa Springs

Periodic lane closures may take place in both directions of US 19 from W. Green Acres Street to S. Jump Court between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Friday through Saturday (April 21 - 29) nights. At least one lane will remain open in each direction during the nighttime lane closures.

W. Homosassa Trail west of US 19 will remain closed around-the-clock until further notice. Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) would like the public to use caution in the project area.
