County Administrator Randy Oliver and Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) Ron Kitchen, Jimmie T. Smith, Brian Coleman and BOCC Chairman Jeff Kinnard recognized employees for years of service at a recent breakfast held at the Historic Old Courthouse in Inverness on Thursday, January 31, 2019. The following employees were honored for their service and dedication to Citrus County:

20 Year

Shannon Budd Hired on December 14, 1998 as a Computer Network Administrator in then Office of Systems Management. She is currently a Business Technology Analyst in the Systems Management Department.

15 Year

Rickey Sadler Hired on November 8, 2003 as a Parks Maintenance Worker in the Department of Public Works, Maintenance Operation Division. He is currently a Journeyman Tradesworker in the Public Works Department, Facilities Management.

George Licht Hired on November 24, 2003 as a Construction Inspector in then the Department of Development Services, Building Division. He is currently an Inspector III in the Building Division.

Kristy Fuller Hired on January 05, 2004 as a Secretary in then Department of Development Services, Community Development Division. She is currently a GIS Analyst in the Systems Management Department, GIS Division. Utility Operations.

Lanette Ferdinand Hired on January 5, 2004 as a Secretary in then Department of Development Services, Community Development Division. She is currently a Senior Development Review/Permitting Specialist in Growth Management, Building Division.

Brian Coleman Hired on January 12, 2004 as a Utilities Construction Technician in then Department of Public Safety, Utilities Division. He is currently a Utilities Technician II in Water Resources, Utility Operations.

Veronica Davis Hired on August 8, 2008 as a Part-time Library Aide in the Community Services Department, Library Services Division. She is currently an Industry Relations Specialist in the Visitors and Convention Bureau.

Sandra Searl Hired on December 01, 2008 as a Housing Accountant in Community Services, Housing Division. She is currently a Housing Accountant in Community Services, Housing Division and has a retirement date of February 8, 2019.

Warren Watson Jr Hired on January 14, 2009 as a Utility Operator Trainee in the then Department of Public Works, Utility Operations. He is currently a Utilities Operator III in Utility Operations.

Stephen Schindler Hired on January 20, 2009 as a Utility Maintenance Worker in then Department of Public Works, Utility Operations. He is currently a Utilities Technician II in Utility Operations.

Thomas McConnell Hired on November 25, 2013 as a Solid Waste Technician I in the Public Works Department, Solid Waste Management. He is currently a Water Conservation Specialist in Water Resources

Alan Napier Hired on November 12, 2013 under the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, Fleet Services and is current a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Public Works, Fleet Management.

Donald Maidlow Hired on December 9, 2013 as a Field Operations Supervisor in the Public Works Department, Engineering Division. He is currently a Road Maintenance Operations Manager in Public Works, Road Maintenance Division.

Donna Harris Hired on December 09, 2013 as a Senior Secretary in the County Attorney’s Office. She is currently a Development Review/Permitting Specialist in Growth Management, Building Division.

Anthony McKinney Hired on December 09, 2013 as a Code Compliance Officer in the Growth Management Department, Code Compliance Division. He is currently the Code Compliance Director.

Sarah Ellis Hired on December 06, 2013 as an Extension Agent 1- FCS in the Community Services Department, Extension Services Division. She is currently a Courtesy Extension Agent FCS

Robin Kenning Hired on December 23, 2013 as a Senior Secretary in the Planning & Development Department, Building Division. She is currently a License Compliance Officer in Growth Management, Building Division.

Michael Simek Hired on January 20, 2014 as a Driver Engineer under the Citrus County Sherriff’s Office, Fire Rescue Division. He is currently a Driver Engineer.

Carl Ballard Hired on January 13, 2014 as a Light Equipment Operator in the Public Works Department, Road Maintenance Division. He is currently a Heavy Equipment Operator in Public Works, Solid Waste Management.

Bradley Ferguson Hired on December 12, 1983 as a Maintenance Technician I in the Public Works Department, Road Maintenance Division. He is currently a Heavy Equipment Operator.

30 Year

Sherry Sadlo Hired on January 9, 1989 as a Secretary in then Department of Technical Services. She is currently a Systems Support Technician in the Systems Management Department.

25 Year

Francis Roe Hired on January 31, 1994 as a Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department, Road Maintenance Division. He is currently a Maintenance Technician.

Seeking application for seat on the Historic Resources Advisory Board

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners is seeking applications for the Historic Resources Advisory Board.  This Advisory Board is seeking one position for Member-at-Large, one Architect, and two Alternate Members that will expire on January 31, 2019. The term is for a two-year period and will expire on January 31, 2020.

The Historic Resources Advisory Board meets the first Wednesday of every other month at 4:00 p.m. at the Lecanto Government Building, located at 3600 W. Sovereign Path, Lecanto. The Historic Resources Advisory Board assists county entities to identify, evaluate, and protect historic properties.

Applications are due by February 11, 2019 and can be accessed at:
