Date Road Road Under Construction/Closure Information
08/11/17 CR 491/ SR 44 CR491 phase 1 construction is underway, costs for road improvements and regional storm water will be $14.5M – 50% of the project construction cost paid by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) through a Transportation of Regional Impact Grant and a County Incentive Grant. The remainder of the project is funded through County Impact Fees and Gas Tax. Water and waste water improvements will have a cost of $3.3M and will be paid through Utility revenue.

Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and to look for alternate routes. Anticipated date of project completion is December 2019.
07/17/17 CR 491

The Notice to Proceed was issued today, Monday July 17, 2017,  for the CR 491 road widening project.  As we anticipate periodic traffic disruptions and delays through the 491/44 intersection as well as along the roadway adjust your travel times accordingly and use caution in the construction area.

03/03/16 Halls river Road Citrus County Utilities will be completing utility work in preparation of the replacement of the Halls River Road Bridge. This will require lane closures on Halls River Road to allow staff to access the utility lines. Work is anticipated to begin in late March, pending weather conditions, and should be completed in approximately three weeks. The actual replacement of the Halls River Road Bridge is scheduled to begin in June 2016.
