NACo Prescription Discount Card Program

Naco Card

Residents, start saving money on your prescriptions!

The NACo Prescription Discount Card is provided to you in a joint effort of Citrus County and the National Association of Counties (NACo). Any county resident without prescription coverage can use this program. Even if you have prescription insurance coverage, you may still benefit from the discount card since it may save you money on prescriptions your existing plan does not cover. The card will give discounts on prescriptions for residents who are uninsured, under insured, seniors and pet owners in the county.

It’s easy to use. Simply print a card and present your discount card at a participating retail pharmacy along with your prescription(s), and save an average of 24 percent on your prescription drugs. There are no limits on how many times the card can be used. You can use it for the whole family. Even use the card for your pets. If your pet is prescribed a medication that is also used for humans, ask your veterinarian for a prescription to use at a participating pharmacy. The NACo Prescription Discount Card Program is NOT insurance.

There is no cost for a resident as well as no forms to fill out, no membership fees, no age or income requirements and no medical condition restrictions.

Pet Med Discounts

Here is how the NACo Prescription Discount Card Program can be used for pet prescriptions:

  • Only works for medications dispensed from a participating pharmacy for medications that are also used to treat human conditions.
  • If your pet is prescribed a medication, ask your veterinarian if the medication is also used to treat human conditions.
  • Examples are medications for seizures, heart conditions, infections, allergies, pain relief, diabetes and anti-depressants used to treat behavioral disorders in animals.
  • Ask your veterinarian for a written prescription and take the prescription to a participating pharmacy along with your NACo Prescription Discount Card.
