Agriculture is an important component of the cultural and economic environment in Citrus County and its continued vitality is beneficial for all residents.

While the overall economy has taken a downturn, agriculture continues to be a viable industry. Local agriculture also generates a positive impact on Citrus County's economy by supporting related businesses such as; banking, real estate, legal services, transportation, packaging, equipment, seed, agricultural suppliers, services and marketing firms.
