Master Gardener

Got A Plant Question?  Ask A Master Gardener!

Who are these masters of the garden anyway?
The Florida Master Gardener Volunteer Program is a volunteer-driven initiative that benefits UF/IFAS Extension and the citizens of Citrus County.

Master Gardener Volunteers complete a 50-hour training course sponsored by the University of Florida and Citrus County Extension. In return for their training, Master Gardeners provide 35 volunteer hours per year.

Plan to visit the Extension office to have your plant questions answered. If you are unable to visit the office, call 352-527-5700 and ask to speak to a Master gardener Volunteer.

Plant Clinics
The monthly Master Gardener Volunteer Plant Clinics offer an opportunity for the general public to learn about timely topics in garden, plant, and landscape maintenance directly from Citrus County's own Master Gardener Volunteers.

The short presentation will be followed by an open forum-type question and answer session where any gardening topic is open for discussion. So bring your questions or problem plants to one of these regional Master Gardener Volunteer Plant Clinics or your local library.
