HOUSING SERVICES DIVISION

WAS YOUR HOME IMPACTED BY HURRICANE IDALIA?

 Citrus County Housing Services Division, under the State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program (SHIP)
has received Hurricane Housing Recovery Program (HHRP) funds to assist very low to low-income families impacted by Hurricane Idalia.
Below are areas in which eligible families may receive assistance through this program.


2023-2024 HURRICANE HOUSING RECOVERY PROGRAM (HHRP)
SHIP ALLOCATION $2,615,000


 DISASTER STRATEGY – To provide households making up to 80% of area median income in the aftermath of an Executive Order declared natural disaster to address such needs as:

  • Payment of insurance deductibles for rehabilitation of homes covered under homeowners’ insurance policies.
  • Payment of homeowner insurance premium and/or flood insurance premium for cost burdened homeowners directly affected by declared disaster, this is a non-recurring, one-time assistance for up to one-year policy.
  • Security and/or utility deposits for eligible recipients that have been displaced from their homes due to disaster.  First and last month’s rent will be included if requirement at lease signing to move in.

Site-built homes, as well as mobile homes constructed after June 1994 provided the home is classified as Real Property, are eligible for assistance. Funds will be available for households making up to 80% of the area median income.

HOME REHABILITATION AND EMERGENCY REPAIRS DIRECTLY IMPACTED BY DECLARED DISASTER:
Repairs that remove conditions that are an imminent threat to the health and safety of the residents. Eligible repairs include re-roofs, electrical repairs, plumbing repairs, heating/cooling replacement or repair, etc.  This program can’t remodel units but instead repair existing hazardous living conditions. Funds will be available for households making up to 80% of area median income. Site-built homes, as well as mobile homes constructed after June 1994 provided the home is classified as Real Property, are eligible for assistance.
