Citrus County has approximately 208 repetitive loss properties. A repetitive loss property is one identified as an insured structure that has received $1,000 or more in flood damage losses at least twice within a rolling ten-year period since 1978. One of our goals is to reduce our repetitive loss numbers through appropriate mitigation activities.

The population in the 100-year floodplain is estimated to be approximately 32,000 persons (2010 Census). Citrus County has a total of 5,477 policies in force. The total premiums paid for these policies are $4,377,582. Based on these figures, Citrus County citizens realize a total annual premium savings of $984,829.
