Special Master Hearing Meetings

Code Compliance Special Master hears and decides matters of alleged violations of the county codes and imposes administrative fines and enforcement costs where a pending or repeat violation continues to exist. The Code Compliance Special Master shall be vested with all the powers granted to code enforcement boards under F.S. Ch. 162, as amended from time to time, except that any powers conferred upon local governments therein, including, but not limited to, the authority to execute satisfactions and releases of liens, or to otherwise mitigate code enforcement fines and liens shall not be delegated to the Code Compliance Special Master, but are expressly reserved by the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners.

The Code Compliance Special Master can issue orders having the full force of law and can impose fines up to $1,000 each day a property is in violation.
