Water Savers Rebate Program
Citrus County Utilities offers rebates to customers connected to its potable water supply.
(Customers with sewer only accounts are not eligible.)
- Irrigation Controller – Upgrade to WaterSense® labeled controller - $100
- Rain Sensor – Replacement ONLY - $50

Toilet –
Replacement of pre-1995 toilet with a WaterSense® labeled - $100 - 1st toilet, $75 - 2nd
Replacement of 1.6 gallon per flush with WaterSense® labeled - $ 25
(Dual flush models excluded). Pre-approval required

VERIFY before you buy. Only WaterSense labeled toilets & irrigation controllers qualify. Go to http://www.epa.gov/watersense/product_search.html or look for the label. Still not sure if your product qualifies, call (352) 527-7669.
Toilets - WaterSense® labeled only (1.28 gallons per flush or less):
- Application must be submitted & approved before installation of new toilet. Submit photo of old toilet showing the date stamp or gallons per flush (gpf) usually found on the back wall of the tank, behind the toilet seat or bottom of tank lid, and photo of whole toilet. For pre-1995 toilets with no date or gpf stamp, include a 3rd, 4th, & 5th photo using a measuring tape to show: depth of water inside tank, width of tank, and length of tank. Post-1995 / 1.6 gpf toilets require a date stamp photo to participate.
- After application is approved, submit photo of installed toilet, pre-approval form and dated receipt.
- Limit (2) toilets per household. Replacement of existing 1.28 gpf or less toilets do not qualify.
- Old toilet(s) must be destroyed and disposed of properly. Toilets cannot be donated for reuse.
Irrigation Controllers - WaterSense® labeled only:
- Inground irrigation system must be connected to the Utility’s water supply. Those connected to a private well DO NOT qualify.
- Limit 1 every 10 years.
- Post installation education & training required. Credit not applied to account until after training.
- Sensor-based controllers must include the required weather station/sensor.
- Signal-based controllers require year-round Wi-Fi and connection to a smart device prior to submission.
- All smart watering features must be enabled, i.e. predictive rain technology, controller suggested runtimes, rain skip, etc.
- New construction is not eligible:
- The inground irrigation system must be connected to Citrus County Utilities to be eligible. Those connected to a private well DO NOT qualify.
- Limit 1 every 5 years.
- You may receive a controller rebate or a rain sensor rebate, but not both.
