Pick Up a Paintbrush and Join Painting with Parks Virtual Class

Citrus County Parks and Recreation has been getting creative since COVID-19 temporarily modified
our programming. That creativity has spurred the growth of virtual evening programs.

Parks already offers a Free Virtual Trivia Night for adults on the first and third Mondays of the
month, as well as a Virtual Open Mic Night to showcase local Citrus County talent on the final
Wednesday of each month.

Now, we’re offering a virtual adult painting class called “Painting With Parks”. For a $15
registration fee per class, citizens can receive access to the session which includes an art kit
complete with 6 paintbrushes, three canvases, and paint. The 2-hour class features an instructor
and an art camera which points at her table so students can follow along step-by-step and stroke by
stroke to create their own work of art.

“Painting with Parks” happens at 6:30 pm on each second Wednesday of the month from now until the
end of the year. Jump in for one class or sign for them all! Upcoming dates:
October 14
November 11
December 9

“After hosting a virtual art camp this summer for preteens, we knew we could offer an art class for
adults who would enjoy relaxing while creating a masterpiece with a little online assistance,” said
Recreation Program Specialist Andrea Cuccaro. “So far, everyone is having a good time participating
in this new program,” she added.

To register for upcoming classes, go to apm.activecommunities.com/citruscountyparks. you’ll also
need to stop by the Citrus County Parks and Recreation sometime before the class to pick up your
art supplies. Social distancing will be followed.
Citrus County Parks and Recreation offers many more fun programs on top of virtual evenings, such
