Strategic Planning Community Input Forums Postponed

Due to unforeseen staffing changes at the University of Central Florida’s Florida Institute of
Government (FIOG), Citrus County government has decided to postpone their upcoming virtual
community input forum events until January 2022. This will allow time for a new consultant to be
assigned to the project. Additionally, the County is hopeful that the delay will allow the events
to be held in-person.
Community engagement is critical to the success of this process. All residents of Citrus County are
invited to attend these open public forums and share their vision for the future of the county.
Media partners and elected officials are welcome to attend these events but will be encouraged to
act largely as observers. Those who have already registered for the events will receive email
notification when new dates have been set.
Citrus County is partnering with the FIOG to facilitate this project. After input has been
evaluated and the strategic planning process is complete, a formal document and presentation will
be delivered by FIOG staff to the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners.
