Citrus County Opens Self-Serve Sandbag Sites

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has issued a local state of emergency in preparation for Hurricane Ian. No closures have been announced at this time.
In preparation for Tropical Storm Ian, two Self-Serve sandbag sites will open at 12:00pm (noon) on Monday, September 26, 2022.

These sites will be located at:  
Floral Park 

9530 S Parkside Ave, Floral City

Bicentennial Park 
501 N Baseball Point, Crystal River

In addition, assistance will be provided at two staffed sandbag 
sites until 5:00pm:

-  4210 S Grandmarch Ave, Homosassa (Off of Grover Cleveland Blvd)
***Limit 12 bags per vehicle***

-  7500 W Gulf to Lake Hwy, Crystal River (SR44, across from Dan’s Clam Stand)
***Limit 12 bags per vehicle***

Self-serve sites are open 24 hours but are not monitored overnight for availability of supplies. 
Citizens wishing to take advantage of the self-serve sites will need to bring a shovel.
