Appointments Now Available for Assistance with Utility Bill Payments

Citrus County Housing Services has opened the Automated Appointment System for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). The phone number is (424) 389-4290.
These programs assist low-income residents with their utility bill payments by assisting families with home heating, cooling, and water/wastewater costs. The automated telephone system helps Citrus County residents schedule an appointment and hear more information regarding the programs and the documents required for an appointment. Appointments are scheduled up to two weeks in advance.
LIHEAP and LIHWAP are funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity and has been established to help qualifying low-income homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their utility costs.
These programs are not designed to pay a household’s total utility costs, but to provide supplemental assistance. Due to demand for assistance, applications for these programs are accepted by appointment only.
