Citrus County Tourism

The Tourism Division markets Citrus County as a four-season destination in order to generate positive economic impact within the County and its communities, and enhance quality of life for all its residents.  

This Division is solely funded through a Local Option Tourism Development Tax (TDT) under Florida Statute 125.0104.
This 5% occupancy tax is collected on all overnight lodging stays within the County.   The Tourism Division does not receive any funding from the County's Ad Valorem Tax base.

The Tourism Division's work is facilitated by the Citrus County Tourist Development Council (TDC), an Advisory Board to the Board of County Commissioners.  The TDC meets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at 9am in Room 166 of the Lecanto Government Building, 3600 W Sovereign Path, Lecanto FL, 34461.  The current TDC Chair is District 5 Commissioner and BOCC Chair Holly L. Davis.
