Veterans Services

The Veterans Service Office provides guidance and assistance to veterans and their families so that they are able to navigate the difficult VA systems, DOD retirement systems, and Florida State Benefits Programs in order to obtain pension, compensation, burial, educational, medical, insurance benefits, tax exemptions, park passes, & retirement benefits provided by the Department of  VA Affairs, The State of Florida, and the Department of Defense. The Department of Veteran Affairs includes the Veterans Benefits Administration, VA Healthcare Administration, and VA Cemetery Administration. The Veterans Service Office cooperates with local charitable organizations and businesses to ensure that the veteran and their families are receiving as much assistance as possible from the community.

The Veterans Service Office provides assistance to the veterans of Citrus County and their families. Some of the services we assist with are:

  • Burial benefits
  • Certificate of Eligibility (VA Home Loans)
  • Compensation
  • Death benefits
  • Military retiree SBP
  • Pensions
  • Retrieve medical records
  • VA Healthcare

If the Veteran is home bound, the Veterans Service Officers are able to make home visits to complete documents for submission to Veterans Administration.
